About the club

Discover the joy of rowing

Shelter provided by the surrounding hills at New Norfolk gives ideal flat water conditions on the River Derwent for much of the time. Our small club welcomes rowers of all ages, from school students to masters.

Club history

Rowing has been part of life in New Norfolk since the first Boxing Day Regatta in 1854. New Norfolk Rowing Club was founded in 1928 by Dr David I Fitzpatrick, and since 2021 the club’s home has been the Derwent Valley Boat House on the New Norfolk Esplanade. Read the club’s history.

Fundraising

Our dedicated members aim to get as many people as possible rowing at New Norfolk. We fundraise to keep membership fees as low as possible. Donate to the club or watch our video on YouTube.
